Gwen Buccini started Tabs for Wheelchairs in 1998 to raise money for children in need of wheelchairs. In 23 years, she has presented 40 specialized wheelchairs!
Gwen, our latest Community Hero, started Tabs for Wheelchairs for her son who had Down Syndrome. He inspired her to start the initiative, and was her biggest supporter and helper.
She started collecting tabs at Holy Cross School where she was a teacher, and was able to get six schools on board to help collect. It only continued to grow from there!
Gwen has been the tireless leader of this wonderful initiative and has changed so many lives with her hard work and dedication over the years.
