At least one in six adult Manitobans has severe difficulty using written materials to perform routine tasks. Another one in six has moderate difficulty. Low literacy costs Canadian society approximately $10.7 billion annually, with Manitoba’s share of this cost adding up to over $375 million each year.
The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg is donating $5000 towards the PGI Golf Tournament for Literacy. It is our hope that the Literacy Partners of Manitoba will continue running this successful fundraiser every year. We believe that our donation will help towards the success of this tournament.
The Tournament will be held on Monday, June 14th 2004 at the Elmhurst Golf & Country Club.
