The Kinsmen Club of St. John?s, which is celebrating its 65th year in the association, is proud to invite you to attend National Convention 2005 ? ?Been Away Too Long-St. John?s.”
The Kinsmen Club of St. John?s was chartered in 1939, ten years before Newfoundland and Labrador joined confederation. It was and remains the only club ever chartered outside of Canadian soil.
St. John?s is the ?City of Legends.? Our culture is rich and the pulse of the city is felt in every restaurant, tourist attraction and throughout world renowned George Street, every summer night! You can sit on a patio and enjoy the local culture and dance the night away at some of the hottest nightclubs in the country!
The Convention Hotel is the Holiday Inn. This award-winning hotel is perfect for our convention. It features ?East Side Mario?s? Italian restaurant, an in-ground pool, new modern guest rooms and all related guest services.
The Hillview Terrace Suites, only a 5 minute walk from the host hotel, provides 2 and three bedroom fully furnished apartments. With four sharing a two bedroom apartment, your accommodations can be as little as $25.00/night plus tax! The convention committee will be providing transportation to all scheduled events.
Memorial University, also only a ten-minute walk from the convention hotel, offers limited dormitory rooms during the summer months. St.John’s has many other fine hotels and bed and breakfast facilities to choose from.
Many events are being held at the St. John’s Curling Club. This venue provides ample space for meetings, meals and great fellowship. The entertainment will be the best in the province. This is one convention you will not want to miss.
Use our convention planner on this site. You can browse and book everything from hotels to whale watching tours.
Fellow Kin, in 1975, our club hosted the first national convention in Newfoundland and Labrador: ?Lukey?s Boat.? We are pleased to report that Lukey?s Boat will be docking in time for our Celebration of Service on Friday!
Come join us in St. John’s August 17-20, 2005 ? it?s Been Away Too Long, St. John?s!
