The Kinsmen Club of Winnipeg, using funds from Kinsmen Jackpot Bingo, have purchased a brand new 5-ton truck for Winnipeg Harvest. This truck will be used for the pickup and delivery of large quantities of food throughout Winnipeg.

The truck was purchased from Vickar Community Chevrolet, and will be delivered to Winnipeg Harvest in the next few days. Vickar Community Chevrolet has also aided in offsetting some of the cost of the truck, which can retail for as high as $100,000.00 from many suppliers.

Winnipeg Harvest is a non-profit, community-based organization. It is committed to providing food to people who struggle to feed themselves and their families. It is also committed to maximizing public awareness of hunger while working towards long-term solutions to hunger and poverty.

Special thanks to Kinsmen member Terry Genik for the numerous hours of research and discussion involved in bringing forward this service request.
